BennieO | Ended up discarded 5-7 suited aiming for a slightly stronger crib. I like holding A-5-9 together for the play because they’ve got strength in catching 15/2 and the “Go”. Cut was 7H. |

Let's start with 6 points (b/f starter) in the hand for more potential. |

Cut didn't help either hold, but your hold resulted in a 4-1 peg compared to my 0-4. In hindsight either alternative lead might've changed it significantly for me, however. I went T-K Hand 7 pretty confidently. Ultimately, you win, I lose 112 to 121. james500 says: Hi, thanks for the response. Fwiw my thinking was, I didn't see the value in keeping four points but giving two away for a net two when I could keep the same two points but make a safe discard. Q-9 is the 2/91 safest discard I think?, but I wanted the A-9-A eleven for pegging so Q-6 it was. The app disagrees and rates my choice as fifth best. |

Lots of opportunities for 10 to 14 point cuts. If the eight shows up that's still a five point bump ( if 7-9 was under consideration. Ten lead , nine lead might get difficult. dec dec says: defense off the lead. dec |

I would have gone with the Ace-7 toss, but my algorithm took a completely different approach. I checked it by running it as a pone. And verifies the results. Because when the pone throws the 5s to the crib, the algorithm scores it as a negative, which must indicate that the crib, on average for this hand, is where the real points are.

Flush seems to make sense. Anything but a 6 adds points and puts a 5 in the crib. I don’t hate it. Jsunfla says: Doh! OLD EYES!!! Not a flush! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

I have 12 points now with the 9 starter, some good peggers, and prospects for a decent crib. |

Will avoid 79, 710 and A9, so A7 it is. 57 ok but only 4 points in the hand. |

Same discard and reasoning as stated above. I like keeping 9-10 together for run potential on the play and for cut card.

At 42*-43 playing an Offense strategy for the pegging the dynamic expected averages and Win/Loss %s are:
_______________Our Offense___Hand_Pegs_Crib_Total____W6 %____W7 % 5-5-9-10___8.87+3.00+3.70=15.57____38.2____30.5 A-5D-9-10__6.43+3.02+6.10=15.55____38.9____31.1 5-5-7-10___8.96+3.37+3.21=15.54____37.6____30.2 A-5-5-10___8.52+2.96+4.00=15.48____39.3____31.4 Offense______L6 %____L7 % 5-5-9-10______44.3____50.0 A-5D-9-10_____44.8____49.7 5-5-7-10______44.2____50.3 A-5-5-10______44.2____49.1 Very little difference between the top four hands, only 0.09pt. However A-5-5-10 is slightly best for Win %s and slightly lowest for Loss %s. So, I'll select the 7-9 to discard. After the 9 cut I'll play Defense to the lead. |
