3-2-6 combo might bring some pegging points.
Wordle 1,547 4/6 ⬛🟩🟨⬛⬛ ⬛🟩🟨🟩⬛ ⬛🟩⬛🟩🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 orvani says: And you taking the risk for 12 points crib by tossing the 5 to your opponent crib? james500 says: Hi Orvani, hope you're well. I did give serious thought to 2-9, especially with a 4 and 6 out of circulation, but yes, I'll try 5-9 here. Every cut will improve the value of this hand, and it could peg well. 3-2-6 combo could bring four points against X-X-X-X hands, or if Dealer makes the count 11 on my 3 lead, (as many people like to do), my 4 card brings 15/2. I like the flush combination in this situation, and I'm not too concerned about the pone's crib with the 5,9 toss. I will lead-out with the deuce. |

Since they are short I will try to make up with a defense/offense combination in hand this way instead of going for the sixteen hand potential. Three lead. Jazzselke says: 2,3 or 4 will be 16 |

Every cut is getting us to a minimum of 68. Opp is +5, I'll take the more defensive discard today. Eolus619 says: Hi tevdodd…..A…..3-4-5-6….is a often missed count of 8..well done on your counting 👍 ryman554 says: But the 2346 is 11 by that logic. Is tossing the 5 to the crib worth 3 more points in the hand? MarktheShark says: An Ace cut gets the 2346 flush to 10 meld. And that is the question today. Do we pitch a dangerous 5 into Dealer's crib, who is already past his positional hole, hoping our hand will grow further with a good cut ... or do we keep a good hand and try not to help Dealer race to the finish? |

Don’t like tossing the 5 no 10x cards in hand, so I’ll go wide and send off the 9-2 |

Assured of 8 points, opponent in strong dealing position, so will opt for 29 rather than 59. |

Tossing 5 essentially cancels out any 10x cuts, and we should be a little defensive |

2-9 defensive toss for me to try and stifle dealer’s progress. We still have multiple cuts for a big hand as well with this hold. |

Good puzzle that has 2 excellent answers. Is it more important to try to catch up or stifle the dealer? Well, I am opting for the big hand to get back into the game. The Jack gives me 11, but the 5-9 isnt looking so smart as a toss right now. Lead the 3 and attack. Eolus619 says: Thx for the educational puzzle Gougie00 ..Your choice has to be making Al Miller smile 😄 |

What jazz said above is my reason..thx Dan👏👏
Eolus619 says: just a fyi..if you are in the favorable cut camp today…as to cuts of 2-3 or 4 adding points to this keep verse the flush
a deuce adds only three..but a trey or four takes it to 14 ..verse 16 ..and a six gets it to 16 which is the max for either keep

I choose aggression keeping the sweet flush. Wanna make up the point deficit with max hand score.
If I had to throw 5 to opponent’s crib 5-9 and 5-A are my favorite ways to do it. Cribbage Pro Daily Scrimmage 13th Sep 2025 🏆Score: 🏆121 to 112 📈SP: 1545 📅Streak: 271 |

Another dilemma. 5-9 flush or 2-9? Positionally (60-75*), we wanted to be at (60-70*). Dealer is in good position and we are barely hanging on. Pitching a 5 into his crib is too dangerous for me, even though it leaves us with a great pegging hand. Pitching 2-9 leaves us with a good hand and the hope we can catch up later. |

At 60-75* playing an Offense strategy for the pegging the dynamic expected averages and Win/Loss %s are:
________________Our Offense___Hand__Pegs_Crib____Total___W3 %___W4 % 2-3-4-6____12.59+2.26+(-6.29)=8.56____0.8____5.3 2-3-4-9____12.26+2.20+(-7.25)=7.21____0.7____4.1 3-4-5-6_____9.85+1.33+(-4.28)=6.90____0.4____4.7 Offense______L3 %____L4 % 2-3-4-6_______31.8____74.9 2-3-4-9_______35.9____77.8 3-4-5-6_______25.2____68.5 2-3-4-6 is best for expected averages by 1.35pts. and is slightly best for Win %s. Although 3-4-5-6 is lowest for Loss %s I'll still select the 5-9 to discard. After the JS cut I'll lead the 3 and play Optimally (cautious offense): Lead___________Net Pegging Points 3_____________________0.00 2___________________(-0.43) 4___________________(-0.93) 6___________________(-0.96) |
