About the discard here try to eliminate a ten would fill out the crib. Lead the eight and maybe get a Jack trip opportunity. dec |

Too many cards can increase dealer's crib if I toss 8-9. |

With an 8 out of circulation, I hope I'm not punished for discarding 7-9.

11 pts from our next positional hole, we've got cut options to 12. We miss the cut here, so now sitting -7 we need to peg a few to make the next positional hole more attainable. Opponent is -13 so throwing the Js doesn't scare me here. The biggest curiosity to me with this hand is what the proper lead is. |

It may initially appear to be a close decision between Toss (8 9) and Toss (7 9), but that latter idea has only Three Main Helpers (888), while the former idea is much more dangerous in the Enemy Crib because it has Seven Main Helpers (777, TTTT), or 233% more.
🕯 * * * 🌹 * * * Let's Toss (7 9), since our Lone 8 Card forms a bit of Negative Delta with those other two 'gapped' Middle Cards. After the Red 4 Card Cut, we now have Seven Points in our Hand. Let's lead a Jack from our illustrious PAIR. 🕯 * * * 🌹 * * * Those precocious and enterprising young (and old) peggers amongst us might even consider a 5 Card Lead here, and who am I to disagree, as this would enable us to save our two Jacks for a lovely Self-PAIR for Three Points as we complete the pegging, or possibly even set up a "Rattle Trap" for Seven Points. 🕯 * * * 🌹 * * * Wordle 1,408 3/6 ⬛⬛⬛⬛🟨 ⬛⬛🟩⬛🟨 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 https://youtu.be/jBFnJBbwYPM 🕯 * * * 🥀 * * * |

I chose total "lock-down". Nobody gets anything. |

Start with the max points. Lead a J and keep three different ranks. Sometimes I get (30-6) this way. |

Positionally, we are -1 (60-59) and Dealer is -13 (70-57). Do we pitch from 7-8-9 or J-J? From 7-8-9 might explode in Dealer's crib and put him back into contention, but J-J is not that safe either. Playing the odds, the 7-9 are going. Hoping for a good cut or pegging to get us to our next par hole (70). We have work to do here. |

At 59-57* playing an Offense strategy the dynamic expected averages and Win/Loss %s are:
_______________Our Offense___Hand_Pegs_Crib____Total___W4 %____W5 % 5-8-J-J____8.11+1.35+(-4.52)=4.94____11.7____42.4 5-7-J-J____8.37+1.37+(-5.20)=4.54____12.3____42.8 Offense______L4 %____L5 % 5-8-J-J________8.4____27.7 5-7-J-J________9.6____28.9 5-8-J-J is better for expected averages by 0.40pt. and although it slightly better for Win %s it is lower for Loss %s. So I'll select the 7-9 to discard. After the 4H cut I'll select the 5 to lead and play Offense: Lead________Our Pegging Points 5__________________1.47 J__________________1.42 8__________________1.24 |

7 9 seems the safest throw to dealer. |
